__I graduated in 1999 with a BA Honours in Printmaking,  then worked as a photographic journalist until leaving to go traveling in 2004.
l couldn't bring myself to make art at all during this period.

Returning 2005 from sun and sand to winter in Aberdeen with no job was a pretty miserable experience and l began to draw and paint to pass time.

A friend advised me to submit a work to the Aberdeen Artist’s Exhibition, l was amazed it got in and when it sold on the first week was over the moon.   These paintings were so much fun to do and today l have to keep reminding myself to enjoy the painting process and not get stressed about ‘making high art’ or making money.

As you can see I really enjoy working with multi-materials such as, acrylic, spray paint, oil bars, sennelier pastels, neopastels, felt tip pens, marker pens and collage.

_In 2009 Eve Bracegirdle asked me to illustrate her children’s book ‘Polo and Pearls Arctic Adventure’.  I had not tried illustration before and was pleased with the results.

As an art teacher l had to learn how to use different mediums and techniques to give demonstrations on portraiture (people and animals), still life, landscape and abstract.  These are some of the work l made while teaching my classes from 2007-2011.
